It covers an area of 26.75 square kilometers and administratively governs six villages and five residential communities, with a population of 70,000 people. On July 29, 2020, the National Healthcare Commission decided to designate Wenyan Subdistrict as a National Hygienic Township for the period of 2017-2019.
