Recruitment Overview

On May 22 (Xinhua News), the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (HAGOC) officially launched the global recruitment drive for volunteers at a ceremony in Hangzhou. It is estimated that a total of 52,000 volunteers will be needed to support both the 2022 Asian Games and the subsequent Asian Para Games—playing a key role in ensuring the events run smoothly.

Service Areas & Location Distribution

Volunteers will be deployed across 13 key areas, including:

• Competition operations (match support, venue management)
• Language services (multilingual interpretation)
• Spectator services (guidance, assistance)
• Information technology (system support, technical assistance)
• Opening & closing ceremony support
• Games-related cultural activities coordination

Geographically, 45,000 volunteers will serve in Hangzhou (the main host city), while the remaining 7,000 will be assigned to co-host cities: Ningbo, Wenzhou, Jinhua, Huzhou, and Shaoxing.
