As Hangzhou’s Urban Image and Landscape Center deepens its road lighting enhancement program, a new phase of renovation is set to cover 68 urban roads. The initiative aims to address key safety and usability issues in the city’s nighttime traffic system.

Priority will be given to two types of road sections identified during daily supervision: high-risk "dark zones" prone to traffic accidents (where insufficient lighting increases collision risks) and roads with severely weakened street lights (where lighting brightness fails to meet safety standards).

Once completed, the renovation will significantly improve urban nighttime lighting conditions—directly enhancing the safety and comfort of night driving for residents and commuters. It also aligns with Hangzhou’s efforts to optimize urban infrastructure and create a more livable city environment.
