Spring's most anticipated flower event has arrived in Hangzhou. The 2026 tulip show opened on March 6 at Taiziwan Park and will run through April 12.

Often dubbed the city's "spring superstar", the annual show draws crowds with its long blooming season and rich variety of flowers. This year, around 400,000 bulbs and flower seedlings of more than 100 varieties have been planted across about 8,000 square meters, featuring tulips, daffodils, snapdragons and snowflakes.

Major viewing areas include Wangshan Terrace, Xiaoyao Slope, Youran Pavilion, the Rose Garden and both banks of the park's main river bend.

At Xiaoyao Slope, tulips form sweeping patterns inspired by the romantic legend of The Butterfly Lovers. A tulip-filled boat also glides across Yulu Pond, adding a new waterside attraction.

About 20 percent of the tulips have already bloomed, with peak viewing expected in the coming weeks.

During the flower show, visitors must make advance reservations for entry between 8 am and 5 pm each day through official WeChat platforms. Authorities also recommend public transport, as parking around the park will be limited.

Special bus lines and two water shuttle routes linking nearby piers to the park have been launched to ease travel during the busy flower season.
