Hangzhou Railway Upgrade: West Station Opens in Aug 2022, Qiantang Station Serves in 2025

Hangzhou’s railway network is set for major upgrades, bringing greater convenience to residents. First, Hangzhou West Railway Station will officially be put into service in August 2022, further expanding the city’s rail transportation coverage.

Looking ahead to 2025, residents living in Qiantang District—including areas like Xiasha and Dajiangdong—will gain easier access to high-speed trains via the newly built Qiantang Station. This will significantly cut commute times for those traveling to other cities or parts of Hangzhou.

A key highlight of the upgrade is the integration of rail and air travel: the new railway stations will be connected to Hangzhou International Airport, realizing "joint air-railway transportation." This means passengers can seamlessly switch between high-speed trains and flights, making long-distance travel more efficient.

Hangzhou’s Railway Station Network (New + Existing):
